apparently nx 8.5 should be released in June 2012.
nx 8.5 will be as between nx 7.5 and nx 7.
therefore nx 8.5 can read nx 8, but not vice versa.
I would be tempted to wait, but in the release notes of nx 8 there is written that it will be the last version that supports the 32 bit.
so to give time to a renewal of car park, I do not see solution.

performance and stable product.
many features that cover the gap with the cads of media facia, while developing features for cad of high beams.

Consider that a win7-64 license costs a fraction of the upgrade cost, so problems from this point of view do not see.

problems can arise if on that same ws you have to run the old management application developed on nt4.0 et similar, then there will really be pains to make the transition to 64-bit systems.

we take them, we put the cad manager a saboto/domenica to format every ws?! ?

big companies like yours and mine have cohort licenses, so install all the licenses you want.
the fact that you (cad manager or better yet one of the it), should format so many ws and work Saturday and Sunday, is just the kind of work that leads you to have to be always available.
If you don't like it, change your job.
Remember you paid those two days.

nx8.5 I think it comes out in autumn.
in summer (June) is scheduled nx8.0.2.
nx8.5, while being a major, will be targeted on 3 specific markets:
- automotive (san daimler :tongue
- shipbuilding (we ripped to those of the baguette hyunday ship, the English submarines and the American electric boat)
- Shit.
If things go as they must in terms of new features and arrangement of the existing, nx8.5 could be the next version of fiat and chrysler.

I believe that wxp-32 is still supported in nx8.5 (safe is dead, but I think it is so 99%).
is not supported w7-32 instead

by now:
- start windows
- Start outlook
- Start the antivirus
- Let go of tc
- Let's go nx
- Let's get some more bullshit.
... and the occupied ram is 1.2/1.3 gb
you then have about 700 mb available to upload data

on Windows xp 32 speech and its support: the main problem is the availability of support from microsoft and middleware necessary for nx operation.
if you have a problem (I understand my r&d) what you do, since microsoft no longer supports it?

w-xp is 10 years old...
I hope your it, since it has been 3 years that microsoft has announced the stop to development, has planned the upgrade.
a car wxp-32 is not that you bring it to w7-64, so, without interventions... probably at least the ram will be increased.
then there is the speech of other business applications (post... management... erp... office... etc)

I confirm... and this applies even if you use another cad.
Moreover, as written in the last rows, we also develop software / firmware on xp platforms and since it is no longer supported, we are migrating to w7.

for precision, nx8.5 will be on October 23.
I think beta testing starts in spring.

Maybe it's good that I clarify something, because I've done a little hard to understand it myself, talking to the manager of the platforms.
- nx7.5 is the latest version developed on wxp-32
- nx8 is developed on w/-64
- nx7.5 is certified on wxp-32
- nx8 is no longer certified, but is supported
this means that in case of problems laced to the platform, the answer of the r&d will be "pass to nx on w7-64".

the same should be (supported, but not certified) for nx8.5
