Good morning.
I have to open and edit inventor files with autocad 2007,
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thank you.

if the file is native inventor, you do not.
if instead it is a file exported by inventor, for autocad, then with the classic .dwg extension then it is possible.
If your autocad version is not sufficiently recent then you can convert it with the software design review that the autodesk distributes for free.

you can also save a copy of the inventor file with .sat extension then open autocad, go to the menu "file", "import" and call back the .sat file just saved.
At this point you can save it in .dwg and work on it.
you can also view it in 3d by making menu "view", "view 3d" and selecting the assonometric view that interests you.. .

apart from the jokes, it remains to be understood if if if ife.stac has inventor, or still has someone who can convert inventor files.
It is obvious that with autocad you cannot open inventor files..

hello and thanks for the collaboration.
I wanted to specify:
I have available inventor, as the files to convert were made by a colleague who suddenly resigned and was the only one who used this software, but his pc remained.
the files to be opened and then edit concern plants of ns. warehouse with shelves etc. all in 3d
I can also use autocad 2012, although I prefer 2007.
I tried to save with .sat extension, but imported in autocad then just shows me something??? drawing

The first thing I have to say is, learn to use inventor that's much better.
Otherwise, save them in step and then use the import command of autocad.
Don't expect miracles. You can find some begas, maybe you don't close the solid well and you're only with surfaces, or it makes you a strange transformation. .

if I can afford: ok all import systems, so unblock the work and go on, but you will lose all that done until now in terms of parameters, distinct, drawings together, automatic and parametric table, predisposition for future fem analysis, etc...
If I can give you a dispassionate advice, learn to use inventor that for basic functions is very simple, even simpler than autocad, so doing you will continue your colleague's work, I would see the time "lost" to learn inventor as an important investment for the tec. and above all a way to increase your training on systems falls. If you want we can advise you on very simple and intuitive tutorials and texts.
What version of inventor do you have?

version 5.0

version 5.0
 pure prehistory
really, learn to use it and you will see that you forget autocad; Then, to get to a leaner design facility, it depends on an upgrade. .
(if they read me autodesk commercials, they eventually give me a commission..)
