opinions on role/mansion change. .

a few months ago the mechanical designer in a company that designs and builds machines for the pharmaceutical industry. When I came in I was looking for a career very focused on the technician..I would start with this role, then go to design after a long time...I accepted with enthusiasm since the role I was interested and still interested...the problem is that my superiors tend to give me jobless and in fact hard to evolve from a professional point of view (it has been a while that I always do the same things...I have therefore entered the panad. I was last made a new proposal: since there are problems related to planning, I need a person who takes care of logistics and project management.. but it is the first time that I would go to dress up a job like this and not know exactly what it is (so if I like it or not)... I was told that it is all very exciting, dynamic etc. but you know when it seems all flowers and rainbow Is there anyone who can give me any explanations about such roles, whether or not?

two points to clarify:

How long have you been working in this company?
- company size?

because if you work recently and the company is small it is difficult to talk about well defined tasks, you can usually find yourself having to do almost everything.
if it is a large company instead it is possible to change roles, but this usually takes time, skills acquired and also occasions (like someone who goes away and needs to replace it).

Then it depends on how long you work in this company. to deal with logistics at the end could be there (even if you have to train well, otherwise you risk to generate considerable delays), but to do as a project manager instead requires a lot of experience, under all points of view (product knowledge, production processes, market dynamics...).
the project manager in essence, if it is actually such (many entrepreneurs talk about it but do not even know what it is), manages the projects/committees, has no operational tasks, but responds to the management of the company's compliance with the costs, times and satisfaction of the customer.
It must be able to manage a commission in view of these objectives and to make quick and effective decisions in case there are disturbances.

last thing: maybe the job you do is boring, but the company is solid? Do they have work? do wages pay regularly? Did they make you a good contract? How is the working environment?
It may seem strange to you, but today there are few serious companies in these points of view.

hello...I thank you for the answer...we are a 25 people in all...work for 5 months...but it hasn't changed much since I entered..they make me make drawings quickly and fury , distinct base 70% of the time.. the other 30% project changes, but always based on what they tell me...the contract is from 5 liv ... regular but the working environment and a little to want. . .presumption and arrogance at almost all levels...the fact and that I was hired in a way is soon already want to change role...the thing is not that I went really to genius...the confidence has a little cracked. . words of the resource manager: " or you accept and do career but give up to do what you like or stay where you are and stay the technical office saddle because above you now there will be a dozen young people who have no interest in you." .

You can also be very good, but a little bit of water where you see real practical things you need. Of course, now they make you make you stand out and distinct. the fact that they are all running is the period and unfortunately you work so bad and running...this is the market.

I don't expect to know how to plan... but in the way they let me work I wouldn't be ready even in 4 years flanked by a senior designer...I think there is a graduality in things ...they don't happen from white point... and from here to 4 months ago this gradualness I didn't warn her for nothing. . I agree with scholars. but there must be progress. If you always do the same things as you can learn? You can see right away if the company is on you or not..it doesn't take much time to understand it.
