parameterize together with table excel

Good morning to all,

I would like some indications to parameterize a set with table execel and to define for each single prt present in assime a set of parameters es

if I have a generic set of 10 plates (so 10 prts), from table I would like to be able to define the size (bxlxh) and some processing such as lamature, threads etc. having also the possibility to disable or suppress features or parts when necessary.

so I could have a set that starting from the generic with 10 plates become 8, making those that do not need suppressed or disabled, same speech for the features of each single prt.

Has anyone ever done such a job and can give me an example?

Hi.

I wouldn't bother excel. what you want to do, you can simply get it using appropriate relationships, parameters and family table. only condition that it is a not particularly complex assembly, because otherwise it becomes difficult in addition to its construction, especially its maintenance.

I press that I plan molds and often axiemes are not huge but not even simple to handle as you suggested.
I thought excel because I can set a graphic layout easy to guess so you can easily and quickly customize all the features and change the generic axieme in a short time getting a mold model to 50% defined.

we say that I have already seen how it associates quotas to a specific execel box, but what I do not know is how I can through a logical relationship exclude (eliminating or suppressing) some parts or features that in the various projects do not serve.

In some cases, you see the image, which I attach the size of the individual details. change the share in the set and everything changes.

thank you I understand what you mean, unfortunately I have many quotas to parameterize.
Do you have any idea what kind of input it takes to create to suppress a prt or features?

by experience direct control with excel is quite complex in the initial phase.
I also recommend starting from creo/pro-e via family table, this because the excel file resulting from the program, is correctly formatted and you should not "lot" on this aspect, but you can focus exclusively on the data to manage.
I recommend then to start with 2-3 complete variants, and once these work, proceed with the remaining, the possibilities that everything works immediately, are much higher.
Finally, the number of quotas to be managed, not so much because the program does not (in fact, it works cursed well compared to others on this aspect), but it becomes objectively difficult to manage, when there are many data or worse groups of "on-off" features.

Thanks for the advice.
the reasons why I would prefer to use an excel table are as follows:

1 in my projects I have no standard measures that I can choose, so it can happen to me that the machine that I am planning is composed of 10 plates with x,y,z measurements always different from each other, it is not possible to define these measures in a family table because it would mean to create every time a variant.
while with excel in this aspect is more flexible.

2 I would like to be able to manage the various personalizations in a guided way, setting an interface that requires me to compile all the options provided so as not to forget anything.
with the family table I don't think you can have a menu where you can set up choices but it's all preconfigured through a set of already defined variants, so if you choose the x variant I have a set with x characteristics, if you choose y i have other but if i need z and it's not in the family table what do I do?
I have to create it, in the project that comes after I need b then c etc.
so much it is worth that I keep doing save by name and change every features of every prt.

what I need is to standardize the design process and not the files because unfortunately I cannot do it there are too many variables.
Therefore through a excel sheet I would like to elaborate a series of fields guided to compile with various controls that I supply in output a sort of project datasheet that I create must use as input to update my generic set.

My difficulty is to connect my datasheet with the parameters of my set, especially to suppress or reactivate a prt or features.

I hope I've clarified my goal better.

reading the last post I got a light bulb in my head called pro-program. a function that starts from inputs and draws you for example a plate. I'm not experienced, I remember you were planning with a simple text editor like reports to mean us

Yes, there is access, as I said before, with:
tools > programme...
from here you enter a programming environment with a lot of functions with which you can do practically everything. the problem is to reconcile modeling and manual assembly with the program, all the times you add, or remove, a component or a feature, you have to do it as a program, otherwise without rosus effort. In addition, the subsequent changes, perhaps at a time distance, are really difficult. I recommend it for small assemblies and simple, at least to start.

Thanks for the advice.

attention to want to go down in detail "end" with axioms configured so, as mentioned above (and reiterated by dani-3d) complications can be so important to get even to block the entire database, maybe after creating many variations.
value very well.

Consider that there are family tables of family table (obvious not with the same parameters), but they can help you to nest better and with graphical verification of when done, but also here, evaluates well the implications.

I'll show you a video example.
I have already set a job like this the only thing I can't do is suppress what I don't need
I created parameters with the variable si/no and in the prts I wrote the following reports to complete:

if parameter =

"sopprimi feature" (is there a function to do this?)

end if

open the set and go into tools > program > edit project (always with wf5)
to the end of the file you will find:

add part (Special name)internal component 70
add

transform it into

if parameter=
add part (Special name)internal component 70
add
end if

It should work.

ho fatto una prova veloce ma ho questo errore
