It's a classic question that has a classic answer.
If we want to do so, but the time spent solving the problem, however small, is not worth the effort.
I'm personally going on like this: I make two half long springs half the spring to its minimum extension and I assemble them in an iam with a minimum and maximum limit.
works very well and costs little.
