Hello
I'm new in the forum.

I am a mechanical designer (almost forty-year-old :frown:) employed in an international company in Bologna.

I used for years (in another job) pro/e wf2.

in the company where I am now using solidworks 2010, great program I would say, and it does not make me regret more than so pro/e.

However, I cannot find anything similar to what was the flexible quota (or flexibility) that could be given to a share of part/axis in the pro/e. extremely convenient when such parts/assiems fit into the assieme father.

typical case of springs, cylinders, gas shock absorbers... etc.

how do you do with solidworks to have a flexible part in a set as in pro/e?

other consideration: We use enterprise pdm, so if you could avoid all the time having to change a compost and then check in and then validate it to add the necessary configuration.

I hope I've been quite clear in exposing the problem.
I point out that the flexible share on a part/aid in pro/e is usable without having to check out the part itself, so it can always remain in a valid state.

I went to the forum because I didn't find satisfactory answers either on the net or through traditional support channels.

I would say that this is a problem that concerns all mechanical firms using solidworks and a pdm, so I hope to find some answers from the forum.

Greetings, thank you and excuse me for the... .

I vaguely remember the flexible function in pro/e,solid work handles it otherwise, then use configurations and equations so that that part is flexible. .This may be a method

Hi.
the same problem we also had when we went from nx to sdw, for parts like or or various springs.
we solved it by inserting a series of standard configurations in the part (e.g. springs) that modify the height/diameter of the part discreetly in the field of extensibility of the part itself, perhaps by commanding the whole from a sheet of excel.
the flexible part in sdw does not exist, but perhaps it is better so, because those of nx blocked us the assemblies in the update.
for commercials for example we do not approve them in pdwe, so just do the code co and add the missing configuration.
Have a good day.

for cylinders, shock absorbers etc. (i.e. subaxis that have parts equipped with "walk", even angle) is also convenient to use the quota limit between advanced couplings.
instead for individual parts that "deform" I think the only method is as mentioned above use configurations.

But if you meant something else,
then right clik on the subaxieme to from the window of the property Choose flexible solve (that in order to "move" the couplings with limit quota is this system).

hello to all, I reconnect to this discussion for the same information (flexibly in combination) but with sw 2016.
Is there anything about it?, or apart from the configurations there is nothing else?

What is not clear to you in the previous answers?
try to be more precise about what you need because in the discussion has already been answered the dilemma flexibility

I mean quota in the parts, if I have a flexible fitting curve on the fold radius (90° or 45° or 24° etc.), together I can have infinite possibilities of values, in creo it is possible to insert an ad hoc quota, taking also a distance in the assembly where I am assembling, not necessarily inserting a numerical value from keyboard and without having to build a "version" appropriate to the inside of the curve (configuration).

I read that the answers date back to 2010, perhaps in this period of time, a similar function has been inserted.

draws the bound sketch inside the axieme. to every move of the parts in the together a reconstructs and the part of suitable

But does this give me external references? because here in the company you prefer not to do it for simple pieces.

you can insert odds related to equations or variables, but if they are connected to the axieme you always have an external reference.
