Bye to all,

I'm wondering if there is (and I'm sure there is) a way to get a screw to make a hole (for itself) in a part where it is inserted into a set.
in my case: I do a part by extruding a rectangle; I do a part by extruding another rectangle (larger); I do a set in which I insert the two parts with the first part that competes in the second.
I would like the rectangle-shaped hole to be formed with the size of the first rectangle... in solid top you can create a parametric element of library.
I'm just as sure that you can!
the example is to make a hole for a door in the wall that welcomes it!

Well... to make holes for screws you can use series opp holes. creation wizard holes, then put the screws with smart fasteners opp. from toolbox.
If you want to put screws and automatically create holes, you need a third party program that integrates with sw.

to do the subtraction of two solids you can use the cavity command or divide that you can find under the menu: insert/stamps.. .

You have to use the smart components, start doing the tutorial then do a lot of tests by reading the online guide. at the beginning there's a bit to get out, but then it comes out, I did like this:wink:
you can associate functions like an extruded cut to the door frame and when you insert it into the wall it creates the hole automatically.
