partial offset of a cursor perimeter

hi to everyone, I tried to find an answer to my question on the forum but I found nothing that does to my case. in other cad 2d I have the possibility to make offset of a perimeter very comfortably by setting the distance first, then with the first click of the mouse on the second half of the first body to offset and then I can with the second click decide where to stop with the "path" . for example, if on a polylinear square I want to make the offset of three sides on four, or of one or two, in the way I described I could do it but in autocad. How can I do that?

I don't think you can do this, so first do the offset and then remove the surplus, for example with the command cut. or explore the line and delete excess lines.

Thank you for the prompt response, yours is the method that I am forced to use but to which I am looking for an upgrade. I do not know how other less complex cads of autocad can beat it in these simple shortcuts in my opinion fundamental to productivity. do they exist lisp in this regard?
