I don't think I've talked about it.

I have a pin ø20, length=200 mm.; how can I perform/represent a zigrination only on the first 25 mm.?
a little as it happens in the processing of external thread, to understand.

with inventor 2010 I had to "divide" the pin in two trunks: 1 ø20 175 long, the other from ø20,1 and 25 long, on which I applied the zigrinature.

Are there any other systems?

do a plane parallel to the initial face of the zigrinating point and 25mm away, use the command "divid" and use as a partition tool the newly created plane. will create 2 cylindrical faces without touching or diameters or lengths of machining. Now select the face to be paddled and make button dx -> properties and how color use the texture of zigrinature.
