pdf 3d with various configurations

I would like to create a pdf 3d in which various possible mounting configurations of our product are contained.
I see that it is possible to export and select only the views, not those of detail.
Since I am not yet completely clear of the difference between these how should I operate?
in a view representation I can configure my set in a certain way, so create a new representation and configure it differently?
in the past someone here on the forum told me that this thing should be done in the levels of detail, but I can not recover the discussion.

view representations manage:
store view ( zoom level, frame rotation, possible section)
color forcing

the pdf 3d managed by iv 2017, takes into account the representation of view and, from the version iv 2017r3, it also manages the forced color
