survey:
1. use solid edge for work or other?
2. use synchronous or classic environment?
3. Are you a new user and comes from previous versions?
4. have you found advantages in terms of time and mental resources?

the purpose of the survey is to confront us. Thank you.

The poll isn't here!

I'll start.
1. x work.
2. classic
3. from 2002 with v.11 or 12.
4. I did not learn the synchronous environment: (and a purpose of this survey is to understand if I should learn it)
- because I have everything on old versions, and to do the revisions I do first.
I always thought it was an advantage. helps me think and develop according to a logical order.
- in mechanics (unlike modeling) for example a milling is always a milling: can change its path (creating / eliminating faces) and I can control it at best during the revisions with the features (but here depends perhaps on my approach to the program).

1 - work
2 - classic
3 - new (formerly I used another 3d)
4 - never used (syncronous environment)

1 - work
2 - classic
3 - started with v17 (I used a 2d previously)
4 - used little synchronous environment, more than anything to familiarize
with the controls. use the traditional environment as many of you
for the fact that 99% of the models have already been made before
in traditional environment.

1 - work
2 - classic
3 - started with v19
4 - I only did some evidence to understand if I could learn without course. I desisted.

1. work
2. classic
3. started with v7 (in 2000 or below)
4. I've just chipped with the synchronous environment and I'm not able to give judgments.

Hi.

if traditional st, use to 99% sheetmetal, I wait st2 for the synchronous environment in sheetmetal

if traditional st, use to 99% sheetmetal, I wait st2 for the synchronous environment in sheetmetal
if traditional st (use to 97.5% sheetmetal)
I wait st2 for synchronous in sheetmetal because I have old projects to import.
I started with 20.
compared to autocad 2d saves a lot of time drawing hand developments from 3d

1. work
2. classic
3. solid edge v6... how long!!
4. I'm still at v20 waiting for st2 for the plates.

1-work
2- classic
3- At home somewhere I still have a v6 since I was a student. to work from 16
4- I find that working on the 3d helps a lot. I just played a little bit

1. work
2. classic
3. use solid edge from v8 now use the 20
4. I would like to try the st

1 - work:
2 - classic:tongue:
3 - from 5.5 today 19
4 - never used  (and I look good from doing it)

1. use for work;
2. use the classic environment;
3. from v17 to today;
4. In the working field, the synchronous environment looks good at using it, because, in my opinion, still uncertain and incomplete.
I think the software is experiencing a transition phase and users are paying the consequences.

My other personal opinion, it was a very great mistake to abandon the old interface in favor of the new so uncoordinated and uncomfortable. a weighted remnants would have been more appropriate.
I think other cads have better interpreted the transition to the new office interface. Solidworks seems to be better organized.
if they had implemented synchronous modeling, without overturning the clean and effective environment to which all of us were accustomed, at this hour I would have already spent some evening in front of the pc to understand more.
Instead as soon as I see the organized environment so badly I get rejection.

Greetings to everyone!

1 - work
2 - classic
3 - v12
4 - I tried the st, of which I unnecessarily paid the license since the new method does not seem to me to bring so many advantages to justify the time to learn it. On the contrary, we say that the synchronous+the toolbar of the st made me stay at v20 and cancel the assistance contract. . .

1. use solid edge for work or other?
- for work, modeling and teaching.
2. use synchronous or classic environment?
- classic for parametric modeling (families of objects)
- classic and synchronous for training
- synchronous for changing solids from other cad
(but usually for that use autocad.)
3. Are you a new user and comes from previous versions?
- 15, then.
4. have you found advantages in terms of time and mental resources?
- are two different instruments, both very powerful... in money yes.

usual example:
better a ferrari or a tractor?

of both: If you run on the track it is better the ferrari, if you go to harvest it is better the tractor!

p.s. of course for everyday uses better hope in the possibility to customize the toolbar (rebbon) ... having static is a nightmare !!!

1. work (latter)
2. classic
3. v17 to st
4. st in a classic way... I would gladly return to v20 :finger:

Note:

- does not admit itclassic environment, the update would be an economic-moral drama!
- st synchronous is too sluggish --> loss of time (personalizing the toolbar is an enterprise.... if you think about moving it from pc to pc as a company standard! oioi)
- advantages in the synchronous so far never found, rather than revolutionizing the 3d could not find a way to better exploit the processors and current resources?
- I can't even imagine the sheet metal of st2 with the same premises as st:eek:
- the decision of the next update will be a tough choice.... to evaluate very well
