Hello.
in the office we would like to create a further cad. now we only have fixed pcs, but as we need a new laptop and this station would be occupied only in case of emergency a few weeks a year. We would like to take only the laptop not to buy both a fixed and a laptop that would be used however only sporadically (the laptop now we only use it in the transfers). Taking only the laptop we would halve costs and double the use of the new hw. My doubt is if a door can manage the assemblies of our plants that are very large and complex.
the ns supplier of sw would also provide us the laptop, he proposed this:

that sw can turn or be used also on laptop is certain...
normally I design on fixed post...but I also have a notebook that I always carry with me for convenience when I have to make changes directly on the place.

I use a:
intel xeon 6 core i7
ram 12gb
nvidia gtx 2gb
screen 17"

last year cost eur 1.590

to you have even proposed the picture model of the video card, even better since you have 4gb...
I think the laptop they proposed is great. . .
It just seems a little limited to the total ram of the machine...if you consider that maybe you keep other programs open while drawings,I don't want you to go to snaps... ask for safety.

I speak only for my personal experience;
use solidworks on a portable hp elitebook8560w workstation with the following features:

processor i7
ram: 32gb
video card: nvidia framework 1000

for now I think it is very efficient and the purchase expense was 800€ used.
as operating system use win 10 and primausavo win7 professional.

nowadays the professional laptops arrive "almost" at the levels of a high-end workstation, the only problem could be autonomy, however the assemblies you have to manage how many parts they contain?
