Bye to all,
I ask that I am new to the forum/site so you have some patience if maybe my questions have already been partly addressed by you experts of cad 3d!!
I am a 30-year technical designer with 7 years of experience in the interior locks/furnish sector and a couple spent in the industrial automation industry. for about 2 months I started using solidworks after attending a basic course lasting 24 hours (not many but useful to give a flourish on the program). finished the course, I installed solidworks 2009 version sp3.0 and so I started to "seat" on the program.
that we come to the problem that I write to you. I installed the version on my laptop which is a notebook with the following features:toshiba a200 purchased at the end of 2008 with s.o. 32-bit "windows view home premium", intel(r) core(tm)2 cpu (t5500@1.66ghz 1.67ghz),
3 gb ram memory, graphics card nvidia geforce go 7300.My main problem is that when launching the program often crashes, I do ctrl+alt+canc to unlock everything and after 2 restarts so about sw the program starts to work. inter alia if they are not connected to the internet, the program is impossible to unlock even with the classic ctrl+alt+canc operation because a window appears that says the system is busy.
then I tried to navigate the solidworks website to the page http://www.solidworks.it/sw/support/systemrequirements.html to "pass" the required requirements.
I noticed that as a ram memory it is recommended at least 1 gb (I am in amply) while what worries me is the operating system since windows home premium view is not mentioned among the "recommended" systems for sw 2009 (among other things marked by a post at the bottom of the page, see note nr. 11 in the link to the site). Plus my s.o. is 32-bit, perhaps not exactly optimal to work with this program.
I know that even the graphics card is not really suitable for sw but for the use that I make at home (not at very high levels, if the sense that I do not load heavy assemblies) I can content myself with...
at this point what I addressed to you is:
I have to "please" about how "gira" sw on this notebook (personally I do not think it is further improved since I have already purchased it assembled in a shopping mall) even if I have these problems, otherwise since I would want to buy a fixed pc which type and model (write me some technical features) that I buy you recommend to do?
of course the use I would do is not at very high levels so I did not want to spend thousands of euros... but I would be happy to buy a pc that allows me to "turn" decently sw 2009. I know that windows view is not as high as s.o. so maybe it would be better to throw (in case of purchase of new pc) on win xp or win 7, right?
I hope to have been clear in my request, in the meantime I thank those who will answer me first.. .
good weekend designers! :finger:
