good day, for years now project with thinkdesign and I feel I can say that it is a really unreliable softwere even if done quite well and very intuitive, I say this because I had to literally remake assemblies from 300 components and dozens of single models (very complex weights) because they have corrupted without any sensible reason, the assistance has never solved any of the cases sent, limiting itself to say every time the search will turn to the department I said this I wanted to ask you if you know if there is a possibility to activate a bekcup function with temporary cadence, which saves a copy (reproduced and nn update the same) for example every quarter of an hour? I hope I've explained well, thank you for the attention.

I don't know the software in question, but I have the impression that the problem is not in the frequency of backup copies...

If your thinkdesign version corrupts the current file, it will also damage subsequent rescue copies, at least so it suggests me common sense.

Too bad you had to do it all over again, because a so-called "cross trial" would be enough to find out the culprit:

1] the computer generates a file and passes it to the computer b, which reads it (or not)

2] the computer b generates a file and passes it to the computer a, that reads it (or not)

I would opt more for a hardware, operating system, or some thinkdesign dll corruption, but a cross-check would be the first approach. Straight to learn more.. .

I used think design for several years, when I was an employee.
It's a never solved software problem.
I worked in a company with 10 cad stations and all, with different machines and graphics cards, we had this problem also with different releases.
It is no coincidence that it is a product in total decline.

interesting this phenomenon: if the hardware was really different, then (probably) the common denominator was the operating system, maybe in Italian.

You should reproduce the problem on windows in English, so there would be extremes to sue the manufacturer. . .

As for the various changes we have already made many tests, with think3's own systemists, having results and answers, I just have to hope that there is the possibility to do that ke I asked in the first message.

You could predict a sync system between your server and an external disk, such that every hour or every day the two archives are aligned. when you notice file corruption, you can go to resume the result of the last synchronization (but you must act quickly obviously before the next synchronization takes place).

I have a similar system between two linux servers (although for different reasons), the software that deals with the job is unison.

Thank you, I will propose what you told me to our systemist, because it is almost Arabic to me:

I'm afraid it's a software problem, not really a rock...

Good morning Paul,
I also use thinkdesign, I think it just like you about software, and I have the same problems as yours. as thinkdesign backup is not reliable, I opted for a backup system outside the cad. I created a script with kixstart+robocopy (software free), I execute it with the scheduled options every half hour, save new or modified files in different folders for every day of the week and split for every hour, removing them automatically after two months (but it's all customizable). In this way I have a history of the files produced and I can recover what I need.
