I agree... it's always so... I can't understand why a mold design is never valued enough. they pay you more to design the detail than to design the mold... Mah...

I say my... 13 ani design molds and pm.... I've seen all the colors... once it was defined the design value of a mold by calculating the entire value of the equipment (which was defined by size) and considering 10% on the total.
Now the quote does not serve to take a job, but to give the idea of cost to the customer as in a few hours they are able to do it, then in second line they give you a budget for the design that usually does not come to 5%... I don't know if I'm going to work all my life... But you don't earn like you used to.

me and my colleague we have created an ad hoc file for the different types of molds cataloging and quantifying the different elements and processing that generally characterize it (blowing lamps).
a big job but having the count hours of the old molds we are converging towards a quite likely calculation.
It must be said that we do not arrive at a price but at an account hours per car or workshop on which the commercial works.

I agree most times the final price does the customer... but it is precisely in these cases that the prev. is fundamental. At least you can understand if you lose or you earn... and therefore do not accept the contract!!!
