Do another part with the horizontal cylinder then do the asses and put them tangents... so I interpret the solution but I did not understand if that is what you are looking for

the cylinder doesn't create it horizontally, just create it, then in the axieme you put it as you want.
to do a set click on new and instead of pressing 'part' press on together but you should look at a tutorial then to know how to put together the various pieces together
