problem function thickening surface-solidworks

Hello, everyone. I am a master student of mechanical engineering. [SOLIDWORKS] At the moment I have to carry out a project that concerns the redesign of the armrest of a seat for public transport on rubber. What I have to do is work on an imported file. the imported file consists of patches of thickened surface, so the first step to change this imported was to create offset surfaces and then change them appropriately. the next step was to remove the body from which I extracted these offset surfaces and create new patches that I then trimmed and merged. I came to a unique surface using the "unisci surface" command. next step is thickening. then select the surface, check a thickness that does not conflict with the curvatures or that generates self-intersections of material, and unfortunately the thickening function is not performed. an error window appears to me that I cannot interpret: "Impossible to create the offset or impossible to eliminate the face."
premetto that in the course of modeling [SOLIDWORKS] there was practically nothing practical about surface modeling. thanks to those who will be able to give me clarification. allego file

with the surfaces you have to clench, there is no unique solution. try instead of thickening to use surface off (for example) and once thickened on the opposite side. or fill everything with merge surfaces (other example) and then cut off the soul you don't need with "cut with surface)

1-creo offset and mirror surfaces
2-face 3d sketches and use "surface filling" to create patches that allow me to join the two parts
3-face "unisci surface"
4- I try with the thickening but fails, yet it seems strange to me because the cad still shows me the preview of how the thickening would come.
I hope you can fix it.

You could inspect the surfaces before joining them. You would have more solid bodies that you can match with each other.
