Bye to all,
I have a small problem; a supplier turned me a 3d model of a hub for a impeller; I converted it and used it in inventor until today.
now I am to have to pull it for the long so as to separate the upper part from lower qurlla; only that it is to all effects an imported solid and if I try to extrude it inventor tells me
"puppa!! this is a solid and the attempt to extrusion generates self-intersecting faces. ..sigh
I also tried with inventor fusion, but the piece of being chewed or extruded empty on one side just does not want to know; what do I do besides trying with various spells? ?
Please help me... if you can:smile:

Hello, I am using the following method to dig molds but I don't know if it can do to your case:
I create an axieme with the piece to dig (it could be your hub) and the master surface (a solid that manages to remove the material from your hub). body (to select all the surface creates new and select the superfic option after which you have to decide whether to maintain the adactivity (unrecommended, but there is convenient that the imported surface remains adaptive to the original and therefore if you change the first the second one goes behind) or not.
Once I have my solid with my "excavator surface" I open it and with the split command selecting the solid cut option eliminate the material that is contained in the surface.
Otherwise if you attach the hub I'll take a look at it, so I'm home with a broken arm...
Bye-bye

Hello, I'm sorry about your arm
Thank you for your kind answer, now I will try with your method and see what I can get; As for uploading the hub now I see what I can do. .
I'm going on with your proposal.
Thanks again for the help
