problem misplaced view

Hello, guys, I'd like to ask you a question about a table with ptc. I should insert a banal beam to "i" and then put on the table front and side view. being the 6 meter long beam, I would like to achieve something similar to the one in the figure below. But I don't know how to do it. Can you help me? Thank you very much
