problem of organization and management of work in 3d

Hello everyone,
I would like to ask a question to those who know more about me in terms of architectural modeling with 3d autocad.
I come from the naval design (exterior design) and some small realization of interiors of houses, I have never designed a house or housing unit from the outside.
in the study of architecture in which I am "apprentice" but ask me to draw the 3d of various housing units, palaces, two-family, villas etc....often to several floors and often with roofs to falde that intersect and so on.
the autocad controls for the 3d I know them enough (although not all), what I miss to know is the organization of the work and the right process to draw a house starting from the plants and the prospects.
I ask you: as soon as you open the plants and prospects of the house in autocad how do you manage everything before doing the 3d?
drawn piano by plane and eventually put them "one above each other" or is there another method?
and for the roof?
I apologize for the too many questions but I'm sure someone more experienced than me can give me directions.
Thank you.

the method of work is very personal and depends very much on what and what detail you think you reach.

dividing into separate drawings then joining them can be useful for modeling phase not to overload the machine, it may not serve if details are not pushed, materials si/no in short the variables are 1000.

I'm the only advice I can give you is to divide everything into multiple layers, so you can manage everything with a lot of flexibility.

For the rest... elbow oil and so much patience... in the 3d of autocad it takes a lot of patience.

my personal opinions, then everyone thinks of it in his own way.

autocad is not the best tool for this type of work, usually using archicad, allplan or revit architecure. these softares are optimized for the type of work you say.

1) the first thing I do before inserting the 3d is clean all the design from useless lines, useless layers etc. a "_purge" command is a good thing. then has how it says shape manage the layers is fundamental.

2) processing depends on whether you want to do sol oesterni or even internal. in the second case the interiors could be done on a separate file not to weigh too much the file, but are opinable indications.

3) at least you don't have to process really huge things I wouldn't do so many files as much plans or stuff like that, too much time loss, managing the amodo layers a decent omputer can safely manage "normal" buildings.

4) the bonnet roof can be done with solid polygons, or to simplify with flat surfaces. You could also start from a simple polygon and then add and remove parts to the desired shape. tipende from the roof shape.

5) for the rest straquoto shape again when it says "oil of elbow", because not having predefined autocad tool you will have to do everything hand. For example, if you make a cottage with 6 windows of 3 different sizes, you will need to draw 3 different sets. it takes time for a banality, the specific software indicated above instead have a tool that adapt the type of window chosen to the measure
