Bye to all,

I have a nice question to ask you.... and I hope you can help me.

I have loaded from a cad (microstation) a 3d geometry of a metal structure, but I have noticed that some parts of that model although not in contact with each other (in fact they are very close, but do not touch) generate a bonded contact (default) how can I do to eliminate this problem? In fact, I could suppress all the contacts I don't need, but it's a piece of work because the structure consists of several parts I have more than a thousand contacts and so I would put a life.

Do you have any advice?

Thank you so many

Are you using what version?
In theory you have to give a tolerance for contacts.
I do not have wb under hand, but if you go to the contact section you can set the value or numerically or with a cursor (increase or decrease tolerance).

Hi.
Sorry gerod, but I didn't get your answer.

I use 14.0, in fact if imposed in contacts in the submenù autodetection in "tolerance type" the value fixed at 0.1 mm the contacts more or less turn out to be only those between the parts that actually touch, unfortunately known that the elements that do not touch but that however are close is as if they were transparent to each other, i.e. they interconnect creating no particular tension at that point when they just wait for me contact

Where do you think I'm wrong?

Thanks again for the help

I don't know. It is not that geometry should be fixed. if you see better compnetrations retrace geometry. I understand that it is a job but pre processing must be done well and time needs
