problem with levels

Bye to all,
I am a high school student is I have a huge problem with layers on autocad 2012 for mac (in student version).
In practice when they select a type of line (e.g. drawn) on a level and then create another one with continuous line and then select the one with the line continuously, passing therefore to be treated > the line is always treated as if it did not change the layer.
Can you tell me how to solve this? Thanks

when you are in any layer and select a line for example from the curtain, automatically on any layer you will go to work the line will remain such.
this will always happen to you, for example, with line color and line thickness.
to this need the curtains on each layer.
always comes when you draw, if you accept my advice, create different and specific layers with color, line type and custom thickness to the layer and leave the 3 curtains always with the option "from layer".
except, obviously, special cases.
layers must always be made and used for specific designs.
