problem with step file created with inventor

hello to all I have serious problems with the step files from inventor.
I open them with rhino and does not keep the names of solids and sometimes 'high' also position.
Did it happen to anyone?? Maybe I have to change rhino settings? ?

Never had such a problem, it's hardly the fault of one program or another.
the stp format of both is definitely robust.

see if there are settings on importing step files... You have to do some evidence.

the step files do not keep the names of solids, x keep them need other formats, as safe parasolid and also seems iges. when exporting in these formats, much depends on the goodness of the engine that generates it and subsequently on what reads it. so the only thing you have to do in these cases is to do tests, or open the imported file and correct geometry. operation this which could be performed in 1 minute or hours. also in this case depends much on the ability of the engine that reads the file. with sw I can usually correct without big problems, but there are cases that instead are practically unresolvable. . .

if by "names of solids " you mean "name of the parts ", I must dissent.
if you carry out with inventor in stp (214), the name of the parts remains.
importing in rhino, the blocks keep the correct name.

I did export and import tests with step format. with sw I exported a model both in step 203 and 214. then I reopened them both, always with sw, and the names of the components remained for both formats. then I reviewed the steps that usually send me, and I saw that they are actually not created in 203 or 214. That's why I've never been able to see the names of the components. So I remain what I said...with the steps, in version 203 and 214, the names of the components remain.

[ WARNING ] One of the most dangerous things you can do, clearly if you're a novice of the cad?
open stp files with the same name as the native ones, precious ones, which you have in your pc, save without looking after the stupid machine that tells you that the files already exist and you find yourself with no more parametric files.
