Bye to all,

from this morning I have a problem, from which I can't "horse my feet":

solidworks files are contained within a server (nas), this nas at 20.30 automatically shuts down, not caring if someone has open designs, the nas turned off, we turned on it and saved the files, so far everything ok.

the next morning, we reopen the file and solidworks tells me that the file is already opened by another user, which is not true. If I try to open any other design, it gives me the same message. And it doesn't make me open the files.

if I open the same designs from another pc, they open without problems. .

the pc that does not open my drawings turns on windows7 to 64bit. I give you more details:
pc opens any other file (autocad, word, excel, photo etc.)
I turned off and turned on the pc.
I copied the files locally and that way it opens them.

substantially does not open solidworks 2011 files from the server, as if from that pc you no longer have permissions to open and read files.
Did something happen to you?

Sorry about the papyrus, but I took 4 hours of my day and I don't know what to do anymore.. Thank you very much and good evening.

probably the nas uses linux and the samba server put some locks on the files. What happens by rebooting the nas?

Why do you turn off the nas? are machines made to consume little when they are not under load, probably the most stressed with arrests and repairs that leaving it on h24.

p.s.1 try to delete files that solidworks generates when opening a file, if for example open the pippo.sldprt file, you will see that in the folder you will go to create a file that seems to me should call you $pippo.sldprt, try to delete all these $ files.

definitely the nas uses linux, but I checked and didn't put any locks, if rebooting the nas we are point and head, that pc doesn't want to open the files. .

Frankly, we thought that by turning it off at night, we'd be less stressful, I'll be informed by the PC technician and in case to avoid this kind of problem, we'll let him on, thanks to the advice.

Where do I find these .sldprt files? in a specific folder or folder where the drawings are contained? However, I am to exclude this possibility because it does not open any design, even those that that pc has never opened. .

possible that reinstalling solidworks solve the problem? Thank you! !

I assume you work under domain, then you can try to lodge with another username (make yourself try your partner) that will insert its credentials (white journal) and then try to open a file.
if it works you just need to remake, on the server (policy), your user (roberto mancini).
sometimes it is sufficent to go into the control panel/users (of your pc logged as admin) and delete the user (roberto mancini).
save everything you have in the win documents folders (which you should never use).
even better if you have the norton ghost you create an image of the system that you can shy in 15-20 minutes.

to me it happened with the nas linux but only after a crash of solidworks. But with the reboot of the nas the problem disappeared.
the file speech with the $ is correct, but normally forcing the save you should be able to overwrite.
Are you sure that the nas (linux) does not have any unmanageable read/write permission from win? I'm thinking about the property speech, etc....

In any case I also shock you to turn off the nas, for the hdds, the most worn part, the start and stop cycles are the worst thing, always turning at the same temperature stretches their life.
I usually do a right restart every 15 days of the server, the nas always let it on.
