hello to everyone!. Meanwhile I have the pleasure of presenting myself as I just joined this forum.I hope you can help me with my problem and I hope to be useful for you for other issues.

Meanwhile, I had revit 2011 version for students and everything was smooth... now I saw from the autodesk site that there was an update for revit 2011 and I did not hesitate to download it (all always and only by legal way as a univarsitario student!).
but now with the update I have a problem with the display of the materials to render, that is:
When I check a pre-set material from the library, it is rendered right but when to the material I check a type of material other than the inside of the material library, this is not focused as it should!instead, what is worse is that it becomes an invisible object!...this also happens when to the material I check an image as texture. . .

I hope you can give me a brief answer, because the exams for me unfortunately come close.
Meanwhile I’m still downloading the 2012 version which I saw being in Italian by adeso.. .
thank you and soon!! !

make sure that the new assigned material has a matching texture, and check the settings options that are consistent with the material (e.g., transparency is not activated ...)

you....that is all set correctly!no transparency or fade... where I ask xkè are things I used to do quietly. . .also create a wall with an image of a material from a photo, before it rendered while now not!...
I ask you delucidazioni on 'texture matched' but xkè I did not understand the true meaning.

Meanwhile I downloaded the 2012 version and also with that nothing to do.. .

guys!!!!! I found the solution!!!!. It was autodesk itself that suggested it to me!! and I don't know how I reached it. . .
is in fact that you have to reinstall the materials, but not through the classic program installation window!.. but accessing revit subfolders!!! !

in particular, in the autodesk folder (I created this folder as I downloaded all autodesk -autocad,revit and maya- programs from the site, with permission for university students), within the revit bisonga installation folder search
3 very important 'msi' files, so open them and automatically start their installation at the time of their opening.. .

the names of the three msi files are:
_'proteinmaterials.msi'
_'baseimagelibrary.msi'
_'mediumimagelibrary.msi'

that are located (at least in my pc) in the respective paths:
_c:\autodesk\autodesk_revit_architecture_2011_italian_win_32-64bit\support\adskmaterials\cm

_c:\autodesk\autodesk_revit_architecture_2011_italian_win_32-64bit\support\adskmaterials\ill

_c:\autodesk\autodesk_revit_architecture_2011_italian_win_32-64bit\support\adskmaterials\ilm

n.b. I know that there is another msi file, and I was also tempted to install that, but from the site (official review!) of autodesk, did not mention anything about it. So I'm out of here to avoid other problems. .

to me now they have come back great the renders!!!! ! !
I hope that my problem and consequent solution will be of help to all those who need it....if you have problems or you have not understood well some pastime I will be happy to explain it better. . .

Hello gfrank!!!... have you seen that I made it?!?!? ! .
Could you confirm what I found? ?

basically the installation procedure did not install the materials libraries, which you had to do by manually searching and installing the materials library files (*.msi).

Your problem has never happened to me, i.e., it happened to me with the 2008 or 2009 version (the one that used the first time mental ray) but was due to the processor that was not supported (if I don't remember badly there is also a discussion about it) ....
