problems with side inversion (beginner)

Good morning guys, I start by saying that I am a beginner of catiav5 and I am trying to draw a pencil.
I arrive to the final part of the work where I practically go to use the tab to get the tip of the pencil, but right here I have the problem. I practically eliminate the part that I need; I click on the reverse side and direction and neither does it keep me the part that I need. How do I do that?
