problems with solid surfaces

Bye to all,
I have a problem with inventor 2010. I have a particular that sent me a supplier that is a solid formed only by surfaces. I want to know how to turn it into a solid, extra, strange thing, when I carry the drawing, only of that detail, on the table to print it I can see it, if instead I put on the table the complete axieme with the detail does not make me see it anymore! Is it normal? Does anyone have any idea how to do that? I don't want to have to remake all the details because it's pretty complicated.

open the file and go to the browser on the " compound ".
dx key, copy in the building, click on the building so you can change what it contains.
select the surfaces and join them.
If everything works, those surfaces turn into one or more solids that you can copy (dx --> object copy, removing the original ) and you will see appear in the lower part of the browser.
If the object becomes a solid you can put it on the table as if it was native to inventor.
If it remains partially formed by unclosed surfaces, you will have more or less important difficulties at the table.
In some cases you can solve the difficulties by requiring that the imported object is not part of the views in the section, in other cases (often ) do not exit if not closing the surfaces with other programs such as rhino.
