Dear colleagues, I would need your help, having intention to buy new professional notebook (of precision m4400) with installed business view 64 bit, I would need to know if, in addition to the classic 64-bit autodesk programs (revit and autocad) there are incompatibilities with the classic office programs (technical study geometra) docfa, pregeo and voltura. from research carried out on the various forums I can not come to head, and I would need a test "on the head". Thank you.

you must see in the sites of the various programs (autodesk for revit and autocad - agency of the territory for the programs docfa pregeo voltura) compatibility with the various operating systems

Unfortunately for 64 there is not much to do. you could bypass the problem by creating a second partition on your hard disk and installing it over windows xp or virtualizing windows xp thanks to a software called virtualbox (freely downloadable from the site) or similar:finger:

(I have passed from xp to view64 for a few months to enlarge quantity of pc rams and honestly preferred it with 2gb on xp that with 6gb on view64:mad:)

Dear gfrank and shadow81, I thank you for the answers (I apologize for posting in the wrong forum... :frown::smile:). So you tried 64-bit programs and they don't turn right?. where I find an iso of xp that I can use without license (you know I would not want to stumble in unwelcome surprises having all the original software). Have you tried? as you are (with a view of 64 bit I see that there are conflicting opinions) the choice of 64 bit view is because having purchased revit 2010 I wanted to have a performing machine and then upgrading the ram in the future (+ of the 4 gb of view/xp 32 bit). Thanks again

In fact the obligation to move to view64 was due to the increase of ram.
1- regarding revit and autocad after increasing ram you should not have problems (for personal experience however for autocad I recommend you 2008 - even with 2gb ram- renouncing to 2/3 functions in more than 2010) I prefer a more stable program )
2- as regards docfa, pregeo and voltura I have entrusted myself to that documented by colleagues who use them, reasserting that there are problems on sight.
3- for xp isus finally I think the only way is to look for it with some p2p:cool program:
greetings
