then the question is immediately made: I know different parametric modelers and I know the potential of solidworks, inventor and catia.

but I create nothing. I wonder:

- in the direct module (which is advertised so much to be direct modeler) in the mode part I do everything, while in the mode together I can do nothing besides moving the pieces?
- basically it's the old reimposed proe and so we're always in front of the parametric modeler history based (see that they say I create doesn't have the obligation of "history made by others" I don't understand that
- if it is as mentioned above, how can I widen and tighten all the pieces in a barrel only of machines with variable light depending on size? I have to iron the single piece and put back the axieme such and what to solidworks?
- is it not that the direct module is like the instant 3d of solidworks?
I created... there was first pro engineer and separately cocreate modeling... merged together to create where the first was maintained and the second integrated in the first. modeling is gone and there's direct focusing very little.... I don't understand

I can't understand the philosophy of this software and I'd like anyone who can turn it right to give me some indication because it really looks like an unknown.

solidworks? seems to be catia lite... will it be a software that will give satisfaction? Recently I see great product renewals but every time it starts from scratch on some normal working modes as if basic concepts should be forgotten.

question not last, since it seems that cocreate 18 lives separated from creo... who of you purchased create 1.0 what found us in as an installation suite? ? ?

I only answer this:

cocreate modeling is still quietly on sale (version 18.1) and in creo nothing has been brought, except some analog graphics.

the direct manipulation of creo should be limited to giving you handles to move surfaces with. The difference between creo and cocreate is that in the first all the operations you do on a model are diligently recorded in the side file: If you move a face ten times, in the creo/direct tree you will not see anything, but if you open the same piece with creo/parametric you will notice in the model tree ten move face operations.

I'm trying to make you clear. . .

creo is now divided into multiple applications, talking about cad are:

1-creo parametric (ex pro/e)
2-creo direct (which is not the former cocreate modeling) but a new app.

in creo parametric the concept of feature based and parametric and associative modeler remained unchanged, added a new extension called flexible modeling extension, which allows to explicitly modify both native and parametric geometry, and non-native geometry from other cads or opens directly the files coming from direct creo as it has the same extension *.prt.

in creo direct is the new application that instead allows the direct explicit modeling both of parts and of assemblies, but that has not yet gone to completely replace the old co-create modeling, the complete fusion should arrive in 2013, when the old co-create will disappear and will incorporate all its technology.

to come to some of your doubts inherent in explicit modeling, in creo direct you can move individually or in multiple ways, both surfaces and components place them through handles with similar constraints to the parametric or combinations of both ways.
as joint-level operations, you can also extrude, revolutionize, etc, without needing to activate the component previously and other interesting things.

who bought creo 1.0 or 2.0 and came from pro/e found himself creating parametric, creo direct is an app.to buy separately (there are new packages developed by role), and flexible modeling is an extension that goes on creo parametric to activate this flexible modeling, which does not serve if you buy directly the creo direct.

I hope I've been clear enough, if you have any doubts or other questions don't bother asking.

greetings

I attach myself to this quote.... solidworks must remain solidworks as well as today solidedge is still him and is not nx lite.
the migration to the caty motor will be there, but would it seem normal to you to continue paying rights to your first competitor? ds decided to use what it has in the house and that allows it to make profit. Will it be better or worse? We'll know when to put it on the market, it's definitely a difficult and "safe" operation.

Recently I see great product renewals but every time it starts from scratch on some normal working modes as if basic concepts should be forgotten.
Could you be clearer? to me it seems the most static cad in the last 2-3 years and I am still satisfied with it. I find that 2011 (which I am still using) was a correct and stable version and I appreciate that they have worked for stability and not for advertising leaving holes back.
where do you find revolutionary changes that force you to change working methods?

I think I'm at risk of the "cult lite". could work as a set of problems.

for solidworks I do not complain apart small holes. It's a life I use it and I've done everything with great successes and strong time savings even on changes. Of course you have to design by putting your head on the functionality of the components and not just the silhouettes.

My reference to your second quote is about home ptc and similar... proe...cocreate....modeling...creo direct...creo parametric. always reshuffle of gambled or upgraded starting programs but never kept constant. solidworks I know it from version 99 and sincerely it has been upgraded a lot in these years and productive tools have been created.

thanks ozzy, you have been very clear and exhaustive about the question

the parasolid migration to the catia kernel is certainly not because of the "rights" and their cost.
I assure you they pay very little.

on the fact that it is "at risk": I confirm.

hi to everyone, I'm new to the forum, I'm approaching (or at least I try) the mechanical drawing with creo 2, but I can't understand how you rotate the view 3d. to make me understand better, if someone uses cinema4d, to turn the three-dimensional scene you press alt+right mouse and you turn the piece as you want. How do you do all this in creo 2.0? thank you all, hello soon.

with the central key. However I see that you are at the very first weapons, I suggest you consult the help online:
