a company I work with is evaluating the purchase of inventor 2011 in both standard and professional versions.
the offer, for 1 station, is 6200 € for the standard version and 8800 for the professional to me as prices seem rather altini you think?
in the past used autocad 2002 how does the autodesk not offer "updates" to old customers?

Well, it depends on the points of view. autodesk is certainly not the cheapest but not the most expensive (see nx, catia or proe).

in the past used autocad 2002 how does the autodesk not offer "updates" to old customers?

because r2002 is no longer updated. licenses expire after 3 years, so 2002 could have updated it until the 2006 release; besides you can not, if not with a legacy (which is nothing but the purchase of the new one with the withdrawal of the used)

are price lists, and to read around it seems that in negotiations sellers can take a lot. You better get another offer from another seller or, if you can, for another cad. for example, I paid solidwrks much less than you indicate, but a list cost the same amount.

by experience, the recovery of the existing archive in dwg format should not be a factor of choice, all modern cad 3d treat in a sufficiently good manner the format dwg 2d.

I would say that we cannot compare the products however! inventor is in the same band of solidworks or solidedge rather than in that of nx or ca... .

the problem is that they have recently hired designers who know well inventor and are pushing for the purchase, I use it and could not agree on the choice :wink:

I have already advised them to make other quotes, let's see what comes out!

I know very well that they are price lists, but I don't think they have to learn from a forum how to negotiate sales prices, don't you think? If they don't have these tricks, they certainly did wrong. . .
