hello to all, I did not find this discussion elsewhere, but I am aware that it is a common matter to many:
1)Is there an automatic way to remove from a revit file all materials not applied and have some order?
2)existes the way to add a path of materials to revit (a folder on the network for example) and make sure that it really understands.. a little like 3dsmax?
thanks now

for purge see image. the paths are there, however you can change. .

1) as written robery: eliminates unused
2) in "management -> materials" you can create specific folders of new materials, which are saved in the project file.
if you use textures other than the default ones, the path should be indicated, by means of r (r great in the menu) -> options -> rendering.
in case of transfer of the folder of new materials, you must also attach the external texture folders to the default ones

Sorry. But I thought there was something better than this "purge", because it does not eliminate all the unused materials.. but only some and I do not know with what criterion

concordo con a-lisa, the command "elimina unused" eliminates only families not used in the project but not materials

materials are not found in the project, so they cannot be eliminated. . in fact do not contribute to weighting the file, as families do.
materials are in a common folder for all your files that you create when installing the program... So you don't have to eliminate it.

I know that they should not be eliminated, but when I insert a family into a project, it takes its materials and if I eliminate the family the materials remain within the project, or at least only in the list creating confusion.

This is a "problem" that I have found myself and it would be nice to be able to eliminate unused mattresses!
often happens when you download a family from the internet (magari in English) and you find a lot of materials on the list!
also deleting the family from the project browser do not delete!
Who knows if there is a way to overcome the problem!
