rastremata elliptical spring with inventor

hello to all

I have to draw an elliptical and conical helid. (later later I posted a photo to make the idea)

I tried with the spring command but it comes out round, while I want it elliptical (it is a sculpture, not a mechanical piece)


how can I achieve it? I thought of a sweep but I'm short of ideas

try creating the 3d sketch of the path for the sweep projecting a tilted line on a cone, then do a sort of cochlea on the surface
at zero thickness, then draw the elliptical-conic surface and intersect it in 3d sketch with the cochlea on the surface.
