Hello everyone, I just started using vectorworks 2011 (demo) and I am encapsulated in the first problems:

how can you see a preview of the real thickness of the lines (i.e. display how the drawing will go in print)? the default display obviously shows them all with the same thickness. .

I have another question, not to go or open another topic.

Thank you.

Hello and welcome

you can set the view from the general settings> view panel or right of the mode bar there is an arrow that tells you some options that can be activated quickly with fast keys

if then I can give you a so much, to understand the impact with the scale dimension of the design, since each monitor is different and vector does not know....

1) draws a 1:1 scale line of 10 cm
2) to attempts with the zoom box (I tell you that if you have a 17 inch mbp is 185% while if you have an imac is 151%) check that those 10 cm you designed correspond to 10 cm of a ruler or who for him who (you...) leans on the screen
3) take note of the percentage value, that I will serve you, along with the real thicknesses, to see how great and how you will see the thickness of your design

Thank you very much. I managed to find the display button next to the way bar, is a button with a magnifying glass. in the other way I did not succeed, i.e. going into the general settings panel, because I did not find it.. by curiosity, is it in the menu file? I have only "document settings" in that menu with a whole set of settings but the screen that you posted you didn't find it.

ah, incidentally, for a 15-inch screen the zoom is 136 %. for a normal pc I mean, not mac..

by mac is on vectorworks> general tax

If you are looking for general settings you should find it (even because it is quite fundamental that you know where it is! :-) ) otherwise if you do not find it you can always activate the shortcut from the arrow menu next to the mode bar on the right of the screen, the same where you have found the thickness icon

in vw 2010 I don't have the magnifier, as in the 2011 demo.. how do you activate it to have it on the way bar?

I don't think it was in 2010.
However it is a preference of the program, contained in the display tab.
I do.

that in windows could be view.. where I can't find this option on time.. What a mess! However I think in vw preferences there is thick lines.. was more than just a convenience having it on the way bar.
