reconnect puts into the table to new version of catpart

the question is simple,
I have a catpart of which I generated the harvests at table 2d
now I have to create a change and then I do ...new from and I generate a model _v1 and save it
now I do ...new from and open the table and save as _1
In the end I go into the views links and replace the x file link it to the new modified catpart but the program never accepts it!!
so I have to manually remake all the harvests at the table.
Can anyone help me?

I hope I have understood well .................... cmq if you go to save saving management (see you want to change the name to file ) the part and its drawing with the names you want the problem is solved ................ you have created 2 new files (part and drawing) that are connected with each other:smile:

but to be honest for years I use catia and I never used
the command "new from"...... even if I have met with
My "cat suppliers" telling me to use it... and I will not use it
never (as it is "unusable" , at least for my opinion) x that to manage assemblies by changing parts and boards with "new from" is how to shoot in the head.

more information about the save command by namewhen you save a file by assigning to it the name of another existing file (by selecting > file saved by name, which allows you to overwrite an existing file), this does not mean that the new file is identical to the original. a file is identified by its name, but also by the uuid (unique universal identifier), which is different from one file to another (except, for example, when a file is the copy of another).

you images of having a catproduct containing two catparts, part1.catpart and part2.catpart:

product1 and the two pointed parts are saved by the save button by name..., then product1 is closed.

a new part is created by selecting new > files.

the new part is saved as part2 in the same folder, so part2 is closed.

when you reopen product1, in a message it is indicated that you cannot find part2.

this occurs because the new document saved as "part2" was assigned a new uuid when it was selected new > file and that new uuid is different from that assigned to original part2. Therefore, the link between product1 and part2 is considered interrupted even if there is a part2.catpart document, because part2 original no longer exists.
if you want to reroute the link to the new part2.catpart, select change > links, then replace.
