Hello everyone, I come back with a question always on renderings, the question is very simple but I never find a solution. ..how can I give mirror reflection to an object on white background? I have never succeeded...if I use a reflective black plan there are no problems but how I put it white does not go out!How can I do?thanks in advance for help

? ? ?
the reflectance of a material can be set regardless of color, texture, bump...
0 is brick, 1 is mirror, with all intermediate values.

better explain what the problem is, maybe with some pictures.

So... what I want to do is to make an object reflect on a plan that I have given a lot of reflectivity. ..but the plan is white...to get a reflection or I put it grey... or not to me...I can't explain myself better.. . now I have increased the diffusion and reduced the shyness and seems to reflect. . .

but since there is something I ask you... there is a way to make the bottom blur with the back ground a bit like in image studio though with alias?scusa if I can't explain too well... .
I'll show you a low-resolution direct render to make you understand. I'll leave everything as it is:
then the object rests on a plane of which I only care about the reflection, as you see the plan is greyish (and I think it is due to the lights), as I said last time for another the plan I do not make it gigantic because otherwise the rendering would end in a month, so you see that the plan has an end but it is bad with the background because it is clearly satisfying it... but if not any other reflection there is...son these problems that scos background. . .

Hello, lalla.

you have to apply a dof to your room in alias in the room options.

example, the distance of your object from the room is 500 mm, then you say that from 550 mm onwards you have to blur everything and the value you want.
Look at the guide, if anything you can't see I'll give you a hand as soon as I'm free.

Hi.
x3d:smile:

Thank you so much for the advice, I'm trying to do what you gave me even though purtropp don't conoscndo these options I struggle to understand how to set them right... but now I try! Meanwhile thanks again to everyone!

never seen how photographers work? a telon behind that makes a curve and then leans on the plane...you can do the same thing, in general it is good.
or, instead of the plan (which you should do round and never square) you can put a pretty big ball on it. the curve goes down instead of above as with the previous method, but maybe it gets better.

for the speech of the focal point, it is right, but blurring does not mean "fume". the effect is different, depends on what you want to get.

As for the reflectance... I didn't understand if the plan is white or gray, however the lighting doesn't seem very well cared for.
try to use directs, or at most omni, and set the decay to 0, at least in the first line.

I felt very useful this thing of the sphere rather than the plan...
actually the lights are those of the shade are not good at treating them. . .
thanks for the advice now I try to put them in place!

or with a "telone" photo from behind. in section would like this:

sisi very clear...in case I wanted to think about the plan and not stacco net on the bottom I should use a cloth like that!
