Good morning to all,
I have a problem, I know you can fix it, but I can't remember how...

I have many pictures in a folder, and I would like to apply to each, a certain sequence of operations like:

- open image
- reduce the size
- save by name

I managed to create a "action", but I have to apply it manually to each image, I would like to say "applies to all those in the folder" or "applies to all those open".

Who can help me?

Thank you very much

Ingenious how to impose the size...I often found myself having to write programs and pass information from command line, but explaining to users how to do it is often difficult. This is a quick and painless trick!

the program works very well, there are only two problems:

1) imposes only one size, so if I have some "vertical" photos and some "horizontals", the final resolution is not the same for all photos
2) It is not possible to impose the compression level of the jpg. automatically imposes something between 4 and 6, so to the eye.

but amen, it's better than that!

as not said... point 1 is not true. imposes the maximum size, regardless of whether it is u or v!

Great!

I agree on compression. I noticed that if you also do a 99% compact resize very much the pictures. It follows that it uses a stronger compression factor, losing in quality. I still find it very useful!

other problem, it does not convert more than twenty files at a time.

so much for completeness of the thread place a possible solution:

- with the command "dir > list.txt" I get a file with the list of all files (in my case just under 2000!)
- with word, holding down [Alt] you can make a selection by column, so I delete everything I don't need, leaving only the file names to convert
- I add before each file "photoresize400 "
- rename the file as .bat
- I launch it from the folder with all the files
- I wait for the procedure to end

p.s.
the last point can be omitted going to make a coffee...

You don't need to write a bat!!
Just keep all files to edit in a folder and drag the folder and not the individual files on the program.
or use it from cmd and command the name of the folder.
the problem you have detected is due to the fact that windows cannot pass more than many characters to the program running.

ooops... the fly died, but the cannon was not necessary.. .
Good to know for the next time!
