Hello everyone and good Saturday.

this morning I realized that I had to re-encode a design initially shaped and put on the table (we call it a123 )
I opened this design and ''saved by name''' with the encoding a124. I opened the table of a123 and saved with the name in a124.
If I open the table a124 in the tree of the views, I find the model a123. instead I should have a124.
How can I solve this?

I hope I've been quite clear.

Thank you.

even if you save with name a design, but inside the model is the previous one, you do not create a link to the new part.

you have to work through solidworks explorer or its shortcuts from right-click windows explorer

I assume you have to make a copy since you talk about saving by name:
1 make a pack&go of the part by integrating the design (more security than the univocity of the connection of the hard files you can put a temporary prefix to the part, the design will be tied only to this file)
2 rename the part via sw explorer (in this way the design will update the link)
3 renounce the design (in this case also the classic rename of windoes explorer)

you have to change the model loaded into the views with the new model. One thing, pay attention to the saves by name x why remember to do save as a copy, otherwise the files will be dependent on each other.

if you just need to rename the part and put it on the table you can simply view the files to explore resources, right click on the file name, move the cursor to "solidworks" and click on "rename"....if you want to make a copy do the pack&go file. .

I solved everything through the explorer.thanks
remains the fact that if they do not decide to install a pdm whenever there is a change and/or revision is always a slaughter. .
