Good morning.
I press that I do not frequent the forum. I write to ask for information about which formula to apply for the calculation of the thickness of the sheet (component of a metal container open only on the top and containing earth. in practice we can call it flower). can you use the formula for the plates or is there any other procedure?
Consider that the section is one side with double upper fold and lower fold all at 90°.

the bottom is definitely assimilar to a plate stuck on the four sides and with distributed load. then surely in reality the four sides are not perfectly stuck .. but being wide with the safety coefficient you should go quiet. in these cases looking at reality is always convenient to make an idea: a true planter is made of plastic, it will be 4-5 mm thick and depending on the width can contain from a few hects to a few kilometers of land without problems. If you have metal designs and you have to be 20 mm thick, there is obviously something wrong
