resources graphics card for inventor 2011

Bye to all,
I have for some time installed 2011 and I must say that I am definitely satisfied with the improvements, in all directions.
only problem, the amount of video resources that absorbs (in fact they strongly recommend a 1 gb video card) if you want to use all graphical upgrades thoroughly.
excluding the possibility of buying (at least for now) a new laptop (now I use a hp8710w with a frame nvidia card fx 3600m from 500 mb) is there any way to improve the graphic performance of this machine?
on a notebook is the memory of the video card increased?
I have already updated the driver with the last exit (2 weeks ago)
I have already set the driver with settings for inventor..
Can you do anything else?

Hello james,
let's say that if you have the video memory expansion slot you can do compatibly with the hardware installed. otherwise there is little or nothing to do.

the video card is not expandable. .

then never heard anyone do it on a notebook..

more than increasing the memora of the video card (always that it is possible, and frankly I doubt it), I would check the possibility to change the card directly... by now in the portable "seri" the cards should be replaceable quite easily (of course you have to check the absolute of the new tab, but I don't think there are big problems)
It's all about seeing if, economically, it's worth it...
