Hello, guys.

for exercise I modeled the object in img1(this is an imported stl file, made with 3ds max).
I wanted to ask you for help on topology of surfaces.
here nothing, perfect zebra.
in alias I created the first surfaces from the projection of curved alunes on mesh(img2).
as soon as I overlap the rebuilt(img3) with the original(img4), I find myself a reversal of the zebra on the rebuilt(img5-img6).
there is a way in alias to follow the reconstructed zebrature of the original.
time ago I was going through surfaces from class b to class a and in correspondence of the rays, I could not have the same zebra as the original.
Do you have a solution? ? ? ?

thanks in advance

If you allow me there are building bases, I can say, respect.
In your case, I think the surfaces are not good enough.
Zebra seems to run all over the place, and then since it's an asymmetric model, I don't understand why you built the surfaces like that.
It doesn't matter to revive the zebra as the original....unn control that sincerely does not serve anything since it will change with threads the important and that it is continuous and not a zebrattura that goes up pou down.
my advice and to rebuild the surfaces, divide it halfway and then start to build it controls with the curvature the gaussian etc.
if you can post some image with gaussian and with curves you can see other errors

I'm sorry I said I'm late.

I agree with you.
In fact, as I wrote in my post it was an exercise and since I never did reverse engineering I wanted to know if my method of getting sections from the scan was right or not.
im model is symmetrical, instead the surfaces created by me no, in this sense you are right in fact I did it only to evaluate the zebra.
I attach the file so if it doesn't make you any trouble maybe you could give me some advice or maybe start setting my job.
in the attached file I still put four two images with gaussian curvature analysis with 1(default) color curves value and the other two with 0.1 value.
I don't know this command well so by intuition I set it to 0.1 which is usually the value for warp of class a surfaces.
Can you explain this to me?

I have seen in your profile that you also use icem, could you make me a difference between alias and icem and why do you prefer one or another?

Thank you:
