revit - abaco - which families are not computable?

Good morning to all, I have a doubt!
Turning around the site I found posts with writing that generic models are not computable.

1)Are other types of family not computable?

2)I would have to create a family of surface-based spotlights (being at first arms the best method seemed to me to create a generic surface-based model) and in the abacus I will have the need to count them, but if generic models are not computable road change.. .

Can you please help me?

ps: the choice of the generic surface-based model is due to the fact that these spotlights should fall into a family of ceiling lights.

... once the family, instead of a generic category, assigns a different category: for example electrical components (... or something similar. . . )
