Good evening to all,
I'm a marital ing student and I'm freaking out with the dear abaqus, which I'm gonna have to use for the thesis.
I have to model the railway superstructure (especially crosses and rails).
are at the point of having to bind the rail on the crossing.
how do I leave certain rotations/translations between the two parts free and block others instead? How do you advise me to proceed?
I was trying with a connector but I'm not really getting it. .
Thank you
stefano!

Hi.
I don't know if it can be useful but to connect the various elements there are "standard" connections of abaqus (called conscious/complex e.g. cv joint, u joint, weld, etc... ).
These connections are very intuitive (there is also an illustration design) so easy to use.
If you don't find what you need, you can always customize the connection type (called basic ) by blocking or leaving free the degrees of freedom at your choice.
I hope I've been helpful
