Hello everyone,

if I have a shaft, considered perfectly straight, 400 mm long and 30 mm diam that rotates thanks to 2 oblique contact ball bearings mounted at about 50 mm from the ends whose respective centers are slightly moved (say by mistake of processing the bearing seats) ie, one of the two cylinders is 0.03 mm lower or higher (or even more to dx or sx) than the other, its shaft in question

Thank you.

the shaft rotates perfectly on its axis without oscillating; the problem will be in the early wear of the bearings, although 0.03 out of 400 are really little (it still depends on speed and preload of bearings).

different if the processing error was on the shaft, then you would see oscillating the shaft during rotation.

Hi.
rightly as the colleague says the main problem is due to an early wear of the tree but I would not underestimate problems of deformation and rotation frequencies that can lead to an abnormal operation of the tree especially if it works at high n° of turns..
