hello to all
I wanted to ask if it was possible with catia to save the model as pdf 3d,
for customers who do not have 3d design programs.
so they could display the model with the pdf addobe included dissecting the model.
I have comet that solidword allows it.

Hi.
we also do it in professional acrobat with catia vr19.
It's very simple.
open acrobat and import the catpart or product (file - open).
you can't create the file directly in the cat.
and cmq solidworks does it because when you buy it (paying a little +) they also give you the acrobat 3d (a species) and so it can do it.
Hi.

Why don't you use the 3d-xml viewer? it costs nothing, just save the file with the .3dxml extension that you find in the drop down menu at the time of saving.

the object you can import it also in an office document. Just double-click and you can see it.

It can be measured, but I don't think you can create sections

There's the same problem with the siemens jt:

1) no one has the default installed viewer
2) you have to convince the interlocutor to install additional software
3) he must have the password of admin (it is not discounted for nothing)
4) acrobat reader is on all pcs in the world and so at 99% you know that on the other hand they can see your file without doing anything.

ah, I refer to the discussion of another forum.. .
as you can see here:http://www.fullpress.it/news/adobe-entra-nel-jt-open-program/7-15709-1.htmladobe is part of the jt open consortium.
the graphic part of pdf 3d is the jt.

However, the wait will be short enough.
soon acrobat will read the jt format:http://www.3d-test.com/interviews/jtopen_1.htm... here you will also find some other useful information about the jt format itself.

Very well!

it would be interesting to be able to incorporate a jt file into a 2d pdf design, like: the listed views are pdf 2d, the assonometric view instead is a 3d that if I click on it activates and I can rotate it and see all the various pmi tolerances etc. the thing is already feasible with the pdf-3d, but it's a not powerful format like the jt (I don't think it supports the pmi), provided that you have acrobat pro.

something similar is possible with the pcf that allows to incorporate in the same file the 3d, the 2d and all the formats of correction (pdf, office, etc).
Your idea is still interesting.
the jt and pdf3d have different usage destinations... a little as if and nx: same motor... same geometric solutor... same principles of operation... different customers

I read the link you sent and it seems that this is "scheduled" for future releases of acrobat reader.
q5 is it possible to encapsulate jt open contents in a pdf document ?
a5

the pdf format as of acrobat 7.0 supports the ability to act as a “container” so jt files can be “attached”. these files can be encrypted within the pdf file. you can also password protect the attachment individually. you can even create links to the attachment from within the pdf so that a user can launch a jt viewer by clicking on a graphic. in the future, adobe will support the import of jt files into pdf for 3d viewing by adobe reader.
This is about acrobat 7, so it's been time.

I'm not piciu...
They say "in the future." maybe for the release coming out on 22/12/2012

I don't want to miss it, but if you insert with a simple drag & drop the 3dxml file in an office document, the interlocutor must "only" open the office document and do a doubleclick.

ah I don't know, but I tried to display a 3d xml file that was "embedded" on a web page, and asked me to download and install the 3dvia player (if I understood well 3d-via and 3d-xml are the same thing, right? ).
http://www.deelip.com/?p=2240However if you can, try loading a doc file with a 3d-xml file, let's try.

I think he's right, hunter.
even the jt can be embedd in a doc office only if you have the jt2go installed.
