Bye to all,
I've had something a little strange:
I saved a set in iges format yesterday.
I went to reopen it and I can't see any components anymore! !
If I click on the tree on a component code and open it opens an empty part! !
What did I do? ?
greetings

1) have you saved the igs in the same position as the axieme?
2) Have you tried to open the igs to verify that the igs file was correct?

Hello...
I saved the iges in the stass folder and checked the iges is okay....
but in my second question I was wondering if you did it when you first exported to igs?
If yes, you overwrite the original.
search for a backup if you set it up in solidworks options.

Hi.
save in the same location you want to save in the same folder? ?
Sorry, but it's not clear to me.... .
I looked at the solidworks setting and unfortunately I did not activate the backup....what I'm going to do now.... .
So I lost the witness? ?
I can't believe it!
It's not possible... .

...but in iges you have to export it, the worst in the world?
Did you try to open it with rhino or another viewer? Maybe there's a problem with importing.

Before overwriting him, he should have asked you confirmation.

the client asked me the 3d to be able to take over the studies of his final apllication. I had sent him stl files (as recommended long ago on this forum), but he told me he had problems opening it.
Then we decided to send him iges, so we were safer!
I'm caxxo.... !
What do you think I should do?
cmq fortunately all the parts have remained in the laurel place, it will be question of losing some time to remake the asses, fortunately they are not hundreds of pieces, but few tens, cmq the "damage" and the "break of caxxo" remains.... .

I solved:
when I created the iges, solidworks saved in the axieme folder (which is not the same as its parts) all the parts that make it.
I canceled these last ones, I reopened the axieme and...taaac!
Here's the witness! !

step, it gives a lot more guarantees and practically all cads read it more or less correctly, or if it reads parasolid, even better.
However, the tree is not exported and does not run the risk of reverse engineering.

iges are usually used when you want to give a "bad-favor" model. ..tongue: at the limit of usability.
