Good evening to all, I'm a new university and I attend the faculty of mechanical engineering. Some of my exams need (or need ) a pc with which to practice with programs of the type solidworks, solidarityges and various. Now as now what's more useful to me in terms of laptop (which lasts at least five years of university without problems in terms of performance)? my budget is 1100 € maximum! Thank you all for your help.

that a laptop lasts 5 years, with acceptable performance with the software mentioned above is not easy. These are exact programs in terms of hardware requirements and as you know, computer science tends quickly to obsolescence.
above all in prostates where at the same expense it starts from lower performance than a desktop and any upgrades are almost null.

If you hope it lasts so much, you'll probably have to raise your budget a bit and orientate yourself on a workstation. Consider that a laptop that lasts 5 years must also be reasonably robust.
look for at least one i7 ivy bridge processor, the ram is always expandable but that the laptop allows you at least 32 gb (4 slots), if you can easily replace the hd here you can save and in a few months/year take a quick ssd (which will change your life).

very good brand recommended is the hp, but I have no preference in this sense; I do not care that the computer is beautifully aesthetically or very light, I would point out on the performance!

if you want a certified laptop and that functions properly the brands are 3:

i.e. the only ones who mount picture cards or amd firepro with certification isv. if you take a laptop with a radeon or a geforce could work well as could be unusable and run this risk to every upgrade.
the cost of these pcs rises to have performance, tie over the budget you indicated.
I have all of the and I can only recommend them, try to configure a m4700 and consider that if you call you have a great discount than the price that gives you the site.

maybe you can evaluate a used laptop or from little expense for the first two years. then when necessary take the good one, so that when you need more you will have a car not too dated.

I bought the laptop I still use at the end of high school, I did theitis

My is a hp dv6 1308sl, it is a domestic pc voted for multimedia (film, cc)

is a computer that cost 729 euros in February 2010

it is not a computer made for cad, but I must say that for a didactic use it went in an excellent way, at the end the need for use has not yet made itself feel apart a project cad optional, where I took advantage to learn solidworks and the pc has never jammed

It is to say that I was lucky, the question is often not between the power or not, but between the compatibility of some functions, especially with the graphics cards


my advice is, if you are in the first year, to try to understand from who is later, if you really will use cad programs, and at what level, I for now, do not need anything more than my pc, and in my opinion these tools are to be purchased only when needed, so as to have at least for the first period of real use a current product
