and recently I've been using inventor 2010 and so far I'm using only 2d sketch, while for 3d sketch never used it and I wanted to better understand when it is more suitable to use it or for what kind of work you can use.

For example, if you need to make a hose flexible/cable or in any case an object with irregular shape use the 3d sketch, having the starting point and the arrival point join them with a sweep built on "space" points and not only on a floor.

because you can't do it together but only by creating a part with your path

Good evening to you. 3d sketches serve to define a geometry not on a plane but rather in space. as it says peppe, for tubes, or for frame structures in carpentry (round round rectangular squares, to l, to c...), to define guide curves of solids, some types of cams and other things.

from what I tried and understood to do a 3d sketch in a set you have to select, double-clicking on a particular in the browser, at this point all the other details of your set are shading now if you go to the model tab in the sketch functions you can see that there are the two 2d and 3d modes, at this point you can perform the sketch in 3d.
selecting it all the icons of a construction of a classic 3d sketch you can use.
once the sketch is finished in 3d click on the top right of the icon "turn".
the only thing and that then the new 3d sketch will be part of the particular in which it was created.:smile:

Why everyone?
in swx (and use it seems to me) do 3d sketch directly in the axieme and there remains, without using support parts.

but if you have to build a solid using a 3d sketch in a set you do the same thing that with inventor. I can take the geometry I need from the components and create a "on-site" by defining its 3d sketch independent of the axieme, otherwise you can't use it directly in the part and you have to project... but what are you projecting? nothing...so outside does not serve for inside:biggrin::biggrin: are two different applications 3d sketch inside and out.

It's like the spring game designed as a unique part that shortens and stretches into the axieme or the bellows... hooks you to the geometry and everything becomes adaptive...idem sketch 3d
