Hello everyone!
I need to do a sketch in the drafting environment starting from a top view. In practice the customer asks me a 2d maximum of the mold before giving me the ok. to do this I put in top view my details and then drawing around the top lines of the mold. the problem lies in the fact that when drawing in 2d is with the sketch tool and with the normal lines, I can not use the lines of the top view. I don't feel the lines of the view in any way even if I enter into expand. Where am I wrong?

test in the style settings of the view, tab general, to set "associative" in the extracted edges.
if imposed so and use a sketch to me it works and feels the remarkable points of the various lines of the piece.

Hi.

Nothing to do unfortunately. nothing changes, there will be some other approach that I miss. the only system that works is projecting the curves from the view to the sketch using them and then erasing them. or not work in master drawing:frown:

dx key on the view, "general" tab set "extracted edges" on "associative" and here you should succeed.

then to be able to sketch by taking the references from the top view, on the toolbar "sketch tools" there is a curtain where you have to select the sketch view, otherwise by default work on the sheet and you can't capture the internal objects to the view.

Try and let us know.

Bye.

hello axa, first of all thanks to the answer.
setting "extracted edges" on "associative" doesn't change anything; in the sense that in the view in the plant still does not feel the knot points. for the sections instead there were no problems even before setting "extracted edges" on "associative" because I felt them.
to sketch instead this time I arrived immediately that you had to select the view in the curtain.
the problem therefore remains only in the view in the plant where I am forced to project the curves in the sketch to be able to use the knot points of the same.
I think the problem is related to the fact that my 2d created it without using master drawing template. i.e. from 3d I went to 2d and started drawing importing the top view. Somehow I think this affects the views you put on the table.

I miss something, if you have not worked in master model, you don't need neache to put "extracted edges" as it directly feels the model when selecting a view to sketch, the extracted only serves in master model mode.
Isn't it that you have the layers of the view turned off when you're drafting? I will explain better, if you have for example solid on layer 1 and when you go in draft and enter the view you have active layer 1 and turn off the others, if you then turn off layer 1 (in layer setting) and put es work on the 2, in fact being the layer 1 turned off in the view if also the active to make us sketch he does not feel the model. I hope I explained. However to cut the head to the cow try to activate all layers before sketching and see if you feel the curves of the model.

the precise meaning of master model maybe it is not quite clear to me (see vein). I'll explain better.
from the axieme I entered drafting and added a top view to view the two components of my set (I am doubtful that this means working in master model).
select the top view from the sketch drop-down menu. I can sketch and enlarge the edges of the view while drawing but does not feel the curves of the model. I also noticed that with the sketch profile command in reality the curves of the model are highlighted when I step on it with the mouse but I do not feel the knot points. with the command line instead do not even highlight the curves of the model.
The layers are all lit on both the sheet and the view and the extract edges are associative in the style of the view.

If I do a top view section on that section I have no problem sketching and I feel all the curves I see.

Okay, then I'm missing something, if I can think of it, I'll let you know.

Bye.

I was wrong to select the view from the sketch drop-down menu. I have two top views:angry:
works thanks to all for the collaboration:finger:
