Hi guys I have a little problem with the rendering background.
I'll explain: I imported a dwg file. in 3d by autocad on revit, I put the materials that interest me but when I go to make the rendering it gives me a gray background. (even if I go to choose heaven serene...etc. )
I have already read a similar thread but I have not been of help.
Is there someone who can explain how I can solve this problem?

how to define the background for 3d views

- open the 3d view.
- in the view tab, graphics group, click (graphic display options).
- in the background, select shaded background.- select the desired colors for the sky, horizon and soil.(optional) if the horizon is visible in the view, specify the level of the ground.- in the graphic display options dialog box, in the sun position, click (sfoil).
- in the sun and shadow settings dialog box, select the ground plan check box at the level and specify the level to use for the ground floor.- click OK.
- in the graphic display options dialog box, click ok.



for rendering it is necessary to use a 3d view "from camera".
in a view of plant selections seen >vista3d>cineta, imposed the height of the same, positions the camera in the sight and drags the "direction.
a new 3d view is created that is rendered with the sky

the first part related to the background, it seems to me that in the 2009 version was not present.
- there was: sun and shadows
and other commands in :
- advanced model display


However, use the second part for rendering:
- visualizations

Yes, I do.
can it be that when 3d objects amount from autocad by revit, the program only assigns me and exclusively that gray background? ...according to me and so.
Instead the color makes me put it... you could change background with photoshop, but it takes more extra time.

Hello everyone.. I've got the same problem, gray background.
I have just passed to the 2010 version since 2008, in the previous I could see the background of sky (with or without cloud) by default set up by revit, but now I only have a gray background. I know that it would be more "carious" to insert them into ps but I would anyway discover the mystery.
I hope someone helps me

in the old version of revit I would see the sky even in the simple view3d now only in the perspective view (cineta), I wanted to know if it is a problem of:
1-free
2-Settings
3-programme

I tried to do everything indicated in step two, but in 3d I wouldn't want to set colors. .
But if I can't go back, I'll be sorry!

you have to create a view with camera only so it will give you background image

Hello everyone, I'm new and I'm using revit very soon. I would have a question: on view 3d (actually with the camera) I can quietly change the color of the horizon soil and sky. When then I go to render, after putting the type of sky (new satin/ scattered/ etc.), the color of the horizon and the soil are changed and return to be white and gray respectively... is it possible to change them? or do I have to upload an image? I noticed that putting the image of a sky as a background the result is too artificial. . :
