sheet creation with a logo

Good morning, everyone!
I should make a "box" in sheet metal inside which I will insert a led light. in the front panel I have to cut out a logo of which I have a vector file in illustrator (I can export it in jpg, bmp, pdf etc etc.).
how do I convert the image file into a sketch and then do the various extrusions?
then it will become a bright sign.

if I don't remember badly illustrator (a life I don't use), which is vector, can export to importable dxf/dwg then into inventor.
I would also try the copy/paste, of course.
